Socrates said, “Know thyself”

I say, “Know your clients”

Guess what? We do not all think alike. As a designer, this is our biggest challenge as well as our chance to grow and push ourselves to the limit!
I have mentioned over and over again how 3D renderings allow my clients to be involved in every step of the design process- as much as they want to be! Laura Alexander, friend and owner of FrankieZed Studios and I worked together to develop a floorplan for the new space for Negem & Worthington‘s new Law office. After developing a plan, I started building it up vertically to ensure that circulation was functional, spaces were equipped with the proposed furniture dimensions, etc. It allowed us to visualize and present different options (ceiling clouds, materials, space layout) prior to building.

I worked directly with the contractor Josh, owner of Watt Builders to ensure that the design was cost effective and feasible. Every job is so custom. Some clients do not want to be involved in the design process and just want to see a finished product and some clients have their own style and want to pick out materials and work side by side with the designer. Our client picked out gorgeous materials from a couple vendors Floorworks, Walker Zanger, etc.  I was able to show these materials in the model that helped us make decisions at a fast pace.
Imported Italian marble flooring, rich walnut flooring, wood accents of lyptus, mahogany and oak, backlit onyx and dramatic granites consisting of deep bluish, greens, creams and rust colors.

After these paint colors were approved from the 3D model I gave the contractor, Josh the paint numbers so that he could show samples on the wall. In less than 4 hours we were all on site reviewing the actual colors on the wall.

All wood is lyptus and mahogany with a few oak accents. The stain will need to pair well with the imported Italian marble in the reception and conference areas.
A rich walnut flooring in the offices and broadloom carpet in the work rooms.
